Charles Ray Britton was born in Bryan, Texas. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School, he attended Texas A & M University Class of '65 (BS in Architecture) and MIT Sloan School of Management (MBA).
He was commissioned in the US Marine Corps, where he served in Vietnam as a navigator on a Phantom. He reached the rank of Captain and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Service Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal, Viet Nam Service medal and the Air Medal.
One thing that is known about Ray is that he was the kindest husband, father, grandfather and friend you could only hope to have in your life. He taught so many of us life lessons that we plan to carry on in his memory. Family meant everything to Ray. He retired from Comet School Supplies in 2017 and moved to New Hampshire.
Memorial services honoring Ray will be at the chapel in the Bryan City Cemetery, followed by a reception at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Bryan, Texas.
