Verna, 92, of Breckenridge passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Brittany Manor in Midland. She was the daughter of Fern and Iva (Row) Martin.

She married Gordon Schloneger on June 20, 1970. She was a devoted member of Amazing Grace Church. Verna graduated from Life Christian University in 1996 as an ordained minister and enjoyed doing outreach at her church.

When her children were young, Verna volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was an avid deer hunter and shot her last buck at the age of 84. She enjoyed doing yard work.

Verna is survived by two sons, Donald Schloneger and David Schloneger both of Breckenridge; a sister, Margie (Richard) Benner; and a sister-in-law, Ardith Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gordon in 2009, sisters, Ruth Skutt, Alice Kirby and Beatrice Martin, and brothers, Robert, Clifford “Bud”, Gene Martin, Bill Hafelein.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Amazing Grace Church with Pastor Richard Jolliff officiating. Interment was held at a later date in Porter Township Cemetery.
