Son, John K. "Jack" Mumford III (d. August 2000), married Lorraine A. Mitchinson (b. 27 Oct. 1925 in Toronto - d. 6 Feb. 2010 in Burlington VT) on 20 Dec. 1947. She was the daughter of Jessie Lackey and Thomas Mitchinson. The couple had 5 children, among them Bruce Scott (b. 15 Nov. 1965 in Brattleboro VT - d. 23 Jan. 2016 in Burlington VT).
John, Jr. remarried Helaine, a singer.
"Among the most eagerly anticipated musical events over tile years has been ... the singing of leading soprano Helaine Christopher (Ed.: s/b Ames) Mumford on Christmas Eve. The Christmas program was always well received and on one especially stormy Christmas Eve, Helaine Mumford was having difficulty in getting to the church. When Father Olseni became aware of the situation, he called the Warwick Police Department. The police were happy to assist and dispatched a police car to get the stranded soprano to the church on time."
