William Howard Douglass was born on November 15, 1889 in Sumner County, Tennessee, the son of Richard Edward Douglass (1860–1943) and his 1st wife Willie A (Houser) Douglass (1851–1892). {William's parents were married in Sumner County on November 21, 1888.}
He was married to Estelle Henry (ca 1899- ).
A US Army veteran of World War I and later an automotive engine specialist living on Hillcrest Avenue in Nashville, William was 57 years old and married when he died of "Reticulum cell sarcoma" on August 9, 1947 at Nashville's VA Hospital. Burial was two days later in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
