ADRIAN - James C. Marvin, age 91, of Adrian passed away Jan. 15, 2019.
He was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Waldron, the son of Claude and Ida (Lett) Marvin. On Nov. 10, 1951, he married Wilma Brockway. She survives. James attended Waldron High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
James retired from Ace Drill in 1989 after 27 years of service. He wintered in Zephyrhills Hills, Fla. James attended the United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, Wilma Marvin, he is survived by one son, Larry (Sandra) Marvin of Adrian; one daughter, Nancy (Paul) Mattausch of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and one sister, Maureen Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Highway, Adrian, with the Rev. Drew Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Adrian. Visitation will also take place Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.
