Jane Anderson, 62, of 5757 Uncompahgre St. died at 8:46 p.m. January 2, 2019 at CU Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.
She was born April 3, 1956 in Ottumwa, IA to Thaddeus and Patricia Pierce Anderson.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, she attended Ottumwa Heights College and Marshalltown Community College. Upon completion of a Dental Assistant Degree, she moved to Colorado Springs where she lived and worked for nearly 40 years. She was retired from two employers: Hewlett-Packard and District 49 schools. Jane was also a controlling owner of the Anderson family restaurant, The Crooked Grill Co., which she helped open and operate in Colorado Springs with her brother, Terry.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ottumwa and Sacred Heart Church of Colorado Springs. Jane enjoyed helping at the restaurant, eating at other restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. Jane especially enjoyed reminiscing with restaurant patrons who were from Iowa. Many memories and friendships were made traveling with friends and family. Jane will be remembered for her keen sense of humor and unselfish commitment to her family and friends.
Surviving are her three siblings, Tim (Sandy) Anderson of St. Augustine, FL, Kathy (Wayne) Long of Ottumwa, and Terry (Phyllis) Anderson of Colorado Springs; five nieces and nephews, Thad, Christy, Jill, Tara, and Liam. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her body has been cremated. A Memorial Mass will be held in Ottumwa at St. Patrick Catholic Church pending arrangements. A Memorial Mass at Sacred Heart in Colorado Springs is also pending.
Jane also loved spending time with her beloved dogs, of which Tucker and Lilly are surviving. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Safe Place for Pets, 1520 N. Hancock Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
