Phyllis was born May 20, 1928 in Grand Island, Nebraska, daughter of the late Earl V. Kelly and Vera Radcliff Kelly. She grew up in Nebraska, one of four children, and moved to Joplin in 1970 where she worked with her husband, James Huddleston, in several business adventures including Huddleston Insurance, Huddleston Advertising, and owned and operated 408 Taxi of Joplin for years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Huddleston of Joplin; children, Eugene Williams and wife Donna of Groveland, Florida, Rick Williams and wife Deborah of Deltona, Florida, Sherri Kania and husband Mike of Sanford, Florida, and Terri Bentz of Joplin; step-daughters, Traci Winnett and Leann Robertson and husband Robbie all of Joplin; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Chuck Krolick officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Joplin Humane Society.
