James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After 36 years of service, he retired from General Motors, followed by 15 years of service with ADESA Flint Auto Auction. James was a member of Flint First Wesleyan Church, after spending many years at Bentley Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed spending time outside in his yard, and the neighbors especially enjoyed when he decorated the yard for the different seasons. Jim was in Class of 1960, at Bentley School in Genesee County, Michigan. His favorite hobby was woodworking and hand painting the many projects he made. James was a huge University of Michigan fan. GO BLUE!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Barkman and his brother, Norman Ruggles.
