Obituary of Violet Davis

LUGOFF – A service to celebrate the life of Violet Jeanette Rollins Davis, 85, will be held on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at Springvale Baptist Church. The Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springvale Baptist Church.
Mrs. Davis, wife of the late Ernest Davis, Sr., passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at KershawHealth. Born in Stewart County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Cyrus and Anna Ball Rollins. She was the assistant to the Librarian at Blaney Elementary School and retired from Lugoff-Elgin Middle School. She was a faithful and devoted member of Springvale Baptist Church and her Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Davis was a member of the Red Hat Society, the third Monday Bridge Club and Thursday Night Bridge Club. She enjoyed reading, gardening and decorating.
Surviving are her son, Ernest Lee “Butch” Davis, Jr. (Debbie) of Lugoff; sisters, Bobbie Joe White and Amaryllis “Pete” Napier; grandchildren, Jamie Lee Davis, Amy Lynn Davis, Dustin Luke Davis and Cyrus Davis; 14 great-grandchildren; and nephews, Dwight and Forest Thomas. She was predeceased by sons, Bruce Davis and Barry Davis; brothers, Eugene Rollins Gale Rollins; and sister, Martha Thomas.
