Dean Donaly Presnell (Squirt) age 83 of Lexington passed away Sunday at WFUBMC.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday January 23, 2019 at Journey Church conducted by Preacher Clyde Akers and burial to follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will see friends on Tuesday Night from 6-8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Mr. Presnell was born May 17, 1935 in Watauga County to Mack Presnell and Minnie Pearl Farthing Presnell. He retired from Lexington Furniture. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was an avid fisherman, known for his jokes and always making people smile and laugh. He could always be found at local baseball games and his grandchildren and great grandchildren loved his practical jokes that made them laugh over the years. His parents, first wife, Ada Presnell and a sister, Mary Trivette all preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda Thomason Presnell of the home. His sons, Larry Presnell, Charles Presnell (Jody) and Scottie Hulin all of Lexington. His daughters, Katie Eller (Randy) of Churchland, Lee Hedrick (Gary) and LaDeana Spruill (Tim) all of Lexington. Fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. His sisters, Jessie Harmon, Pauline Milsap (Arvil) and Bessie Mae Hicks all of Sugar Grove and Carrie Lee Estep (Captain) of Banner Elk. Also surviving are his beloved Furry Companions, Sandy and Blacky.
