In 1966 Jim started working for Thompson Pontiac in Springfield. After six years he started his own dealership on St. Louis Street. He moved to South Campbell Street and later to Nixa, completing more than 50 years in the car business. Jim also raised cattle for 40 years.
He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Jim loved golf.
Survivors include his wife, Jan; two sons and their wives, Jeff and Elizabeth Snowden, and Jarrett and Lena Snowden; grandchildren, Shane and Savannah Snowden, and Ty, Bryce, and Delaney Snowden; two sisters, Betty Pietsch, and Linda Beltz; two brothers, Kenny Snowden, and Ed Snowden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Clay Snowden, and two sisters Caroline Wright and June Bray.
Burial in McConnell-Bledsoe Cemetery.
