Charity Lookinbee was born in 1755 in Virginia. Her father was John Lookinbee. Her mother's name is unknown at this time.


She was first married to Job Bowers circa 1778. He was born in 1755 in Virginia and died in Wilkes, Georgia. He was a Revolutionary soldier. It is said that he was killed by Tories while home on furlough.


Charity and Job had two children that we know of: a son named William Job Bowers born 4 October 1779 in Georgia and died 26 January 1844 in Franklin, Georgia and a daughter named Charlotte Bowers.


After Job Bower's death in 1778, Charity married Samuel Karr (marriage date unknown). They had two sons that we know of named John Karr born 1789 in Georgia and died circa 1873 in Coweta County Georgia and David Karr born in 1789 in Wilkes, Georgia and died in 1847 in Franklin, Georgia.
