Jana Dawn (Roof) Foster was born December 6, 1960, in Thomas, Oklahoma to Donald and Charlene Roof and passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Jana was born and raised in Thomas. She excelled in track and basketball and was a member of the 1979 State Runner-Up Girls basketball team. She also loved riding horses all around the farm and could go for miles before getting off. Her sophomore year, she received the Rodeo Queen Title. She was the graduating class of ‘79’ at Thomas High School. After high school, one of the first jobs she had was working for her father as a dry watch. In 1982, She married Daryl Beckner, three years later they brought a daughter into the world and they named her Krystal Dawn. In 1987, Jana attended Platt College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma graduated into Floral Design and shop management. She got a job at Mc Carthney’s as a florist in 1987. Then in 1989, she worked as a florist at North Haven Gardens and Co. In 1989, She moved to Manteca, California. Also, while in California, she worked at Olin Interconnect Technologies as an expediter, material handler, and operator till early March of 1993. Jana and Krystal moved back to Oklahoma later in 1993. A year later, it was then that Jana met Mark Foster III and spent most years living in Custer county. She worked at SWOSU Adventure Programs from 09/1999 to 08/2003. A year later they moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where they were married on May 21, 2004. Jana moved back to Oklahoma in 2007 to attend the Correctional Training Academy to begin a career in the prison system as a correctional officer. She was employed at William S. Key Correctional Center in Fort Supply, Oklahoma as a Correctional Officer for 5 years, then transitioned to the position of Advanced Case Manager III. Jana was employed there for 3 months short of 12 years. Jana had a love for music especially from her vinyl collection. Jana enjoyed riding the Harley, being outdoors and camping. She was outgoing. She had a group of friends she enjoyed hanging out with. Jana’s greatest passion was being a grandma and her greatest love was being a mom.

Jana is survived by her mother, Nita Charlene Roof of Thomas, Oklahoma; husband, Mark Foster of their home in Ft. Supply, Oklahoma; daughter, Krystal Dawn Beckner and husband, Martin Hamilton of Woodward, Oklahoma; two brothers, Tony Roof, Kent Roof and wife Stacey Roof; two sisters, Dana Hinds and Kristie Fleshman and husband Larry Fleshman; three grandchildren, Kyra Nita Dawn Kanani Taniguchi, Kameron Andrew Arlie Hamilton, and SàRhea Mary Josephine Hamilton; four nephews, Gary Roof, Michael Roof, Korbin Roof and Jaxon Roof; one great niece, Ryli Ann Roof; and two great nephews, Hudson and Asher Roof.  She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Roof and Brother in Law Kevin Bratten.
