Graveside Service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday at Mount Olive Memorial Park with Danny Tilley officiating.
He is survived by his wife: Lela of Big Spring; one son: Jayson Thompson of Lemoore, CA; two daughters: Kelly Thompson of Yukon OK. and Kacy Aderhold of Oklahoma City, OK. He left behind four grandchildren: Logan, Avery, and Hudson Thompson and Blake Roy along with various nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He also left behind two sisters: Connie Johnson of Perryville, Mo. and Kitty Schrecengost of Mineola, Tx; along with a brother, Tim Thompson of Colorado City, Tx.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Eileen Thompson of Roscoe, Tx along with an infant brother Donald.
Ronnie was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War where he earned 6 medals including Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He was born in Perryville, Mo but later his family moved to San Angelo, Tx and Big Spring, Tx. Later in life, he lived in Yukon, OK for a number of years. As a young man he worked on cars with his dad and had a paper route. Later he worked for Conoco being transferred to Oklahoma and later as an independent drilling consultant for various oil companies until 2016 when he retired due to health concerns.
Ronnie was known for his work ethic and his natural ability with attention to details was ledgendary. He was a person well known for his humor and joking. He loved the outdoors fishing and hunting and RVing with friends and family. He has left a large hole in our heart as he is loved.
Pallbearers will be Jody Tilley, Rick Johnson, Colby Thompson, Richard Thurman, Mark Huber, and Jayson Thompson.
