Melvin (Pete) was a 1947 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. He was a combat veteran of the Korean War, serving as a sergeant with the U.S. Army. He was the manager of the Woolrich General Company Store retiring after 45 years . Head usher for the Woolrich Community Methodist Church for many years.
Survivors are his wife the former Florence Cline, they were married 1947 in the Woolrich Community United Methodist Church, celebrating 71 years of marriage, also surviving are two sons.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday , January 26, at Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore, PA
Burial Woolrich Cemetery, Saturday January 26, 2019 with full Military Honors accorded by the Lycoming County Korean War Veterans of Williamsport. The Rev. Gary Shumway will officiate.
