Queen Esther (Byers) Brantle-Williams passed away on December 11, 2018, after a long illness. She was born on August 6, 1940 in Morelton, Arkansas to Cerella (Patterson) and James Byers.
She attended Horace Mann High School in Little Rock, Arkansas and later served in the United States Air Force. Queen moved to New Haven in 1960 and met and married Lee O. Brantle in 1961. Professionally, she was active in the insurance and investment field: Equitable Life Assurance, A.L. Williams, Primerica and a host of additional entrepreneurial pursuits. She enjoyed bowling, singing, reading and travelling.
Queen married Willie Jasper Williams in 1998. She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers James Neal Byers and Sylvester Byers as well as her husband Willie J. Williams. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister Teretha Byers Mems of Lexington, Kentucky and her brother John Byers of Little Rock, Arkansas, six children: Michele Brantle-Rogat (and her spouse Carsten Rogat) of Vienna, Austria, Leandrea Brantle of Boston, Massachusetts, Spencer Brantle (and his spouse Phalla Pov-Brantle) of Clovis, California, Alice Brantle, Vincent Brantle (and his spouse Laura Brantle) and Cheryl Brantle, all of New Haven, and 11 grandchildren: William Hines, Vincenza Brantle, Venecia Brantle, Brandon Brantle, Dominic Harriot and Willie Harriot, all of New Haven, Marcus Brantle of Boston, Massachusetts, Naomi Rogat and Alexander Rogat of Vienna, Austria, Preston Brantle and Paxton Brantle of Clovis, California.
