PAUL ROBERT BULLARD, 73
July 13, 1942 - February 21, 2016

Paul Robert Bullard, 73, of Fairview, Tennessee, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville. Paul Robert was born July 13, 1942, in St. Paul, Indiana, the oldest son of Paul Reiber and Avonelle (Reed) Bullard.

Paul Robert was a 1960 graduate of Greensburg High School. Paul participated in football, basketball and baseball during his high school years. He was declared Most Valuable Player in both football and basketball during his senior year as a Pirate. He was also All-South Central Conference in football and basketball. Immediately after graduation, Paul Robert had some serious interest from the Cincinnati Reds as a prospective left-handed pitcher.

In the fall of 1960, Paul Robert enrolled at Evansville College (now the University of Evansville). While at Evansville College, Paul participated on the basketball court and baseball diamond for four years. He also spent one year playing football for the Purple Aces.

During Paul's basketball-playing days at Evansville College, he was a member of the Purple Aces team that won the 1964 NCAA National Championship. Paul Robert was inducted into the University of Evansville Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987.

Paul's only season on the gridiron was very rewarding, as he was voted, unanimously, to the All-Conference Team as a defensive end. His performance on the football field caused the Denver Broncos of the National Football League to show some concerted attention.

After receiving his BS degree in education in December of 9165, Paul Robert began his teaching career in Henderson, Kentucky. He then moved to Boonville, Indiana in the fall of 1966 to teach and coach at Booneville High School. In 1969, he moved to Tennessee, which was to become his last move, making Tennessee his permanent state of residence.

Paul taught in Hendersonville, Tennessee during the 1969-1970 school year. From 1970 to 1972, Paul Robert taught and coached in the Mt. Juliet, Tennessee school system. Beginning in 1972, Paul Robert's educational career centered around the communities of Franklin and Fairview, Tennessee, where he taught, coached and served in the capacity of assistant principal and principal for 28 years. After serving 24 years as the principal of Fairview High School, Paul Robert retired in 2000.

Paul was married to his wife Wanda (Davidson) Bullard for 27 years and she survives. Other survivors Paul left behind are his daughters, Paula (Scott) Piskie, Kelli (Mark) Cairns, Vicki Carlisle, Sonin (David) Baker, Suzanne (Ron) King; son, Mark (Lacey) Davidson; daughter, Shara (Matt Glassmeyer) Davidson; grandchildren, Tab (Jeff) DeHainaut, Hope (Todd) Petroski, Will (Alison) Carlisle, Chelsea (Ryan) Littlejohn, Brock Ballou, Hayden Piskie, Hunter Piskie, Abby King, Alli King, Charlee Baker, Clain Baker, Hailey Davidson, Anna Beth Davidson, Charles Robert Davidson, Gus Glassmeyer, and Bee Glassmeyer; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Vickie) Bullard; sister, Carol (Randy) Salee; nieces, Heather (Troy) Deaton and children, Melissa (Pat) Kramer and children, Carrie (Nathan) Redd and children and Stacy (Derrick) Reynolds.
