Gerald E. (Tony) Porter passed away on May 9, 2018 with his family by his side.

Tony, as he was nicked named by his father on the day of his birth, was born
June 21, 1948 son of Gerald and Gladys (Johnson) Porter in Gilbertsville NY.

His younger years were spent in the Gilbertsville area before his family moved
to Mount Upton where he was a member of the graduating class of 1967.

He married his wife Lynne Wilber, on August 15, 1970 in Gilbertsville NY.

Tony enjoyed fishing, camping with and spending time with his family, playing
football with his friends on the school lawn and hunting with his nephews. He
was also an avid NY Yankee and Pittsburg Steelers fan, watching their games
whenever he could. In his later years he also enjoyed collecting coins, especially Indian head pennies, and adding to his extensive baseball card collection.

Tony is survived by his wife Lynne, daughter Amy, brothers Robert (Linda) and
James (Jane) Porter. Sisters Betty Calamia, Shirley Ashley, Barbara Ladner,
Patricia (John) Hunt and sister-in-law Shirley Porter. He is also survived by his
aunt Florence Johnson and his uncle Raymond(Carol)Johnson, numerous
nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces and great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great nephews and nieces and cousins.

Tony was predeceased by his daughter Sarah, his parents, brother William and
brothers-in-law Louis Calamia, Cal Ashley, Bud Ladner and sister-in-law
Marjorie Porter.

Calling hours will be held May 15, 2018 starting at 10am with service to follow at 11am at the Johnston Funeral Home Morris NY. A burial service will follow at The Brookside Cemetery in Gilbertsville NY.

The family asks in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to
Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St. Norwich NY 13815 or your favorite charity. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.johnstonfh.com Arrangements have been entrusted to the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
