Jerry Eugene Conwell, Jr., 61, Martinsville, died at 1 p.m. May 21, 2007, at his residence.

Born June 1, 1945, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Alma Josephine (Harrison) Adams of Indianapolis and the late Jerry E. Conwell Sr.

He was the widower of Mary Frances "Susie" (Franklin) Conwell, whom he married Dec. 31, 1965. She died Sept. 5, 2003.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa and Cindy Stewart, both of Martinsville; a son, Tony Conwell of Indianapolis; a brother, David Conwell of California; and seven grandchildren, Larry and Michael Conwell and Marc, Kaitlyn, Jeffery, Clayton and Ian Stewart.

He retired from the Plainfield Waste Water Treatment Plant in 2003. He was a high school graduate and a U.S. Marine veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed camping, hiking and canoeing.

Services were entrusted to Neal and Summers Funeral Home of Martinsville, Indiana.
