The family will receive friends between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with his son Mr. John Amon, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Perry was born on October 27, 1919 to the late Thomas P. and Martha (Ralph) Amon in Warsaw, Illinois. After graduating high school, Perry proudly serviced in the United States Marine Corp as a chemical warfare specialist during WWII in the Pacific Area. He participated in an enemy battle while aboard a ship. During his service years, he met Barbara Craft also serving and the couple married in 1945 and spent the next several years together until her passing in 1993. Perry married Virginia in 2006 in Wichita Falls. Perry worked at various jobs and enjoyed spreading the Good News about God to other people. He will be missed by many.
Along with his first wife and parents, Perry was preceded in death by his son, Richard Amon.
He is survived by wife, Virginia Amon of Wichita Falls; son , John Amon and wife, Mary of Irving; daughter, Laura Baker and husband, Daniel; stepdaughter, Kathy Garcia; step-grandson, David Garcia; grandchildren, Matthew Amon, Michael Amon, Mark Amon and May Ellen Willis; and 15 great-grandchildren.
