Helen Juanita Gee, age 87, passed away on Dec. 22, 2018 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS. She was born on Apr. 4, 1931 at rural Kellyville, OK, the daughter of Lewis Peyton and Thelma May (Warren) Gibson. On Nov. 30, 1948 she married Vernon Leon Gee at Sapulpa, OK, he preceded her in death on Apr. 27, 2000. Helen was a homemaker, co-owner of Gee Oil Service, Gee Hay Service and Gee’s Diner. She worked as a Ward Clerk for St. John Dist. Hospital, Stafford County Appraisers office, File Clerk for Great Bend Internist and delivered Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school, a member of the church choir, bell choir and various church boards. For many years she was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She has been a resident of St. John since 1953. Survivors include a son, Darrel L. Gee (Ann); two daughters, Carol E. Siefkes and Susan D. Call (Jim); 7 grandchildren, Angela Gee Jones (Shane), Teresa Gee, Jill Siefkes French (Ross), Julie Siefkes Goetz (Doug), Andrew Call (Jillian), Stephanie Call Fry and Adam Call; 8 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alberta Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild, Lisa D. Call; a son-in-law Robert Siefkes; a brother, Lewis P. Gibson, Jr., a sister, Glendola J. Davidson and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Davidson. Visitation will be from 5:30–7:30PM on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018 at Minnis Chapel, St. John. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, St. John, KS, with Pastor Nathan Gift presiding. A service will take place at 2:00 PM, Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at the Kellyville United Methodist Church in Kellyville, OK with nephew Dwight Davidson presiding. Burial will follow in the Kellyville Cemetery, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Helen J. Gee Memorial Fund for community projects in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
