Linda Eubank Tisdale, age 92, passed away on January 2, 2019. Linda was born February 12, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio to Eugene Lowry Eubank, a pioneering Army Air Corps pilot, and Helen Kelly Eubank. After multiple moves as an Army Air Corps daughter including New Mexico, Seattle, Orlando, and Washington DC, she graduated from Vassar College and joined her parents at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines, where her father was in command. There she met her future husband, Captain Pierre A. Tisdale in 1946. They were married at West Point, New York in 1948.
Linda completed an MSW degree through the University of Oklahoma extension program while the family was stationed at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, in 1969. During this time, she also volunteered with the Officers' Wives Club and served on the regional Girl Scout Council, all while shepherding 4 diverse children through three different schools. Upon reassignment from Libya, the family again settled in Satellite Beach, Florida, from 1976 to 2001. She served on the Satellite Beach City Council, and was elected mayor of Satellite Beach from 1991 to 1994. With her husband, she moved to Blue Skies of Texas West (Air Force Village II) in 2001, where she lived until her death. She was proud to serve on the AFV/BSW Residents' Council as representative and as Council Parliamentarian, where she never hesitated to firmly rule an unruly speaker "out of order"!
She was predeceased by her husband, Lt. Col Pierre A. Tisdale in 2012 and her daughter, Mary Tisdale Price in 2016. She is survived by her children, grandsons, great granddaughters, other relatives and any friends.
