He is survived by his mother, Patricia (Gaylord) Kennedy (nee Workman); father, Russell (Pat) Johnson; sister, Laura Fredricksen (nee Johnson); step-sisters: Laurie and Erin Kennedy; nephew, Michael (Kasey) Schwarz; niece: Meghan (Luke) Lauer; great-nephews: Ty and Cole Schwarz, Brody Lauer; great-niece, Brooklyn Lauer; aunt, Carol Brand; cousins: John Adams and Brigitte (Mark) Davidson.
Russell was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cordula Everson and Raymond Workman, Bernice and Erling Johnson; aunt, Barbara Adams (nee Johnson); cousins: Michael and Tony Adams, Stephen and Gary Sanford.
A Memorial Service will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, IL, on January 24, 2019, from 3pm until 8pm.
