Dover - Stephen T Goin died on January 18, 2019 in the Compassionate Care Center at St Clare's Dover Hospital.

He was born in Morristown in 1928 and grew up there. When he turned seventeen he joined the US Navy, following his brother Raymond and his cousin Robert. After WWII he returned to Morristown High and graduated in 1948. He went on to Montclair State Teachers College at the urging of his aunt, Julia Lintott, and completed his degree in 1952. He later earned a Master's Degree from William Patterson College. Stephen taught elementary school in Chester and for many years at the Canfield Avenue School in Mine Hill.

In 1952 Stephen married Rosemary Loustalot whom he had met in college. They moved to Randolph in 1956 and lived there until their deaths. Their beloved son Christopher died there in 1988.

Along with his wife and son, Stephen was predeceased by his parents William and Mary Welsh Goin and his siblings William (and Dill) Goin, Betty (and Stanley) Estwin, Eleanor (and Ted) DeMaio, Raymond Goin, and Richard (and Lynda) Goin. Also by his sisters-in-law Cathy (and George) Munns, Joan (and George) Borger, and Jean (and John) Young. He is survived by his son Mathew and by many loved nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Morristown on Wednesday at 10:00AM. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation at the Doyle Funeral Home, 106 Maple Ave., Morristown on Tuesday from 6-8PM.

The family would like to pass on Stephen's thanks to his aide Ferdinand Bondoc Jr and the Bondoc family, and to the staff at St Clare's and the Compassionate Care Center.
