Paul Frank Coburn, born in Auburn, New York on May 1, 1940 to Paul W. and Mildred Elizabeth (Feree) Coburn. He died on January 18, 2019 at his home in Naples, FL.

He moved with his family to Miami, FL in 1942. After graduating from North Miami High School in 1958, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served for four years. Following discharge he attended South Florida Community College. He worked as a Park Ranger at Highlands-Hammock State Park, and later as a Police Officer, both in Sebring, FL.

He graduated from Florida State University in 1971 with a degree in Criminology (GO NOLES!), and then received a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Rollins College in 1977. During this time he began working for the Florida Department of Corrections where he served for 32 years in multiple locations. He also served for 16 years in the Army National Guard as a photojournalist, covering stories in various locations including Panama, Germany and Washington, D.C. Paul was also a poker player and a lifelong sports fan, especially when it came down to his beloved Florida State Seminoles and Miami Dolphins.

Paul was predeceased by his parents. He leaves behind his wife Jo Ann Coburn; children Celena Coburn of Winter Springs, FL and Paul Seth Coburn of Naples, FL; grandchildren Aubrey and Luke Coburn of Naples; brother Peter and his wife Ali Coburn and sisters Connie Coburn of California and Pat Pratt (Renn) of New Hampshire.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples, FL 34120, (239) 592-1949. Service date and time are pending, please check with a family member or back here for more information about this service which will posted as soon as more details are available. Immediately following the Funeral Mass, family and friends will travel to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33907, (239) 936-0555. Military Honors for Paul will be provided by members or the U.S. Marine Corps at the cemetery during his committal service.
