AGE 76 YEARS
Susan Diane (Hunt) Carroll of West Yarmouth and formerly of Malden, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 17, 2019, after a lengthy illness. Susan was the daughter of the late John Paul Hunt and Mary Ethel Hunt of Malden. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Joseph Carroll, who passed away in 2017.
She is survived by her son and three daughters, Kevin Carroll of Westford, Ellen Carroll of Lowell, Margaret Rothmann of Andover, Colleen Carroll of Glastonbury, CT. Susan leaves behind her 10 cherished grandchildren and her siblings, Kathleen Neville of Melrose, Connie Nedohon of DePere, WI, John Hunt of Danbury, CT, Terry Hunt of West Yarmouth, and Nancy Cowperthwait of Mesa, AZ. Susan was predeceased by her siblings, Mary McDermott, Dolly Benkhe, Judy Nelson, and Robert Hunt.
Susan graduated from Malden High School and Wyndham Girls Business School. She was employed at The Harbridge House in Boston and McLean Hospital in Belmont prior to working alongside her husband, Joseph Carroll, on their weekly newspaper, 'This Week News', distributed in Malden, Medford, and Somerville. In addition, she was a passionate advocate and speaker for over 40 years for guidance for addiction.
A service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA
