U.S. Veteran Ezra "K" Ashworth - Beaver, Utah

Kay Ashworth loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great, great grandfather and friend passed away August 23, 2006 with his wife at his side in Beaver, Utah. He was born on November 29, 1920 to Oliver Ezra & Myrtle Agnes Klingonsmith Ashworth in Beaver, Utah and lived to be 85 years old. He married his high school sweetheart on January 18, 1939 in Beaver and was later solemnized in the St George LDS Temple. They were married for 67 years.

Kay served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the U. S. National Guard as Master Sargent in the maintenance division of the 222.

He was always willing to help others and could fix anything. He loved farming, the out of doors, going fishing, hunting, and spending time in their cabin that they built in the Beaver mountains.

He was involved in many civic duties in the community and was active in the LDS Church and was a faithful member, serving in many positions. He was an honest, hard working man and helped to make those around him better by being a part of their lives.

He is survived by his wife, Veloy of Beaver; Children: Marilyn K. (Paul) Anderson of Beaver, Nelson E. (Beth) Ashworth of Salt Lake City, Suzann Dalton of Beaver, Charles K. Ashworth of Cedar City and Wendy (Keith) Draper of Beaver. He has 27 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 16 great, great grandchildren. One brother, Oliver Mack (Jetta) Ashworth of Murray and one sister Ruth Bonner of West Jordan.

He was preceded in death by 4 sisters, his parents and one great granddaughter Keona Kay White.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 11:00AM at the Beaver LDS 6th Ward Chapel. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday evening, August 25, 2006 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Southern Utah Mortuary in Beaver and on Saturday at the Church from 9:30AM to 10:30AM.

Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
