Shane Coleman "Cody" Sanders was born in Emmett, Idaho, on Jan. 19, 1973, to Ronald and Sandra Sue Sanders.

Cody joined big brother Clay and sisters Tori and Shantel. Cody embarked on many adventures with his family and friends but the greatest adventure began on Feb. 9, 2001, when his son and very best friend Alexx Coleman Trask Sanders was born and until March 12, 2010, were seldom apart.

Cody married Terri Downard on July 30, 1994, and began their new life together in the Wood River Valley. Cody loved sports, racing, family and friends. He, along with his friend Tracey Farrow, coached All Star baseball where Alexx learned everything he knows about baseball. Cody's passion for snow machines and motorcycles were quickly passed to Alexx. Dad gave him a snow machine for his third birthday, which he raced until he got his first motorcycle. When Cody wasn't on the track cheering "Cheese" on, he was outdoors with friends and family. His infectious laugh, quick wit and compassionate spirit will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Terri, and son, Alexx, of Hailey; parents Ron and Sue Sanders of McCall, Idaho; Terri's parents, Byron and Linda Downard of Bellevue, grandfather Papa Ed Cutler, great grandmother Betty Roubicek; brothers, Richard (Dina) Sanders of Tulsa, Okla., and Clay (Chris) Hadley of Wisconsin; sisters, Tori Wadsorth of Fairfield, Idaho, Shantel Sanders of Marsing, Idaho, and Michelle (Mike) McMillan of Owasso, Okla.; and sister-in law Tiffany Sanders of Carey, Idaho.

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Jerry and Sandra of Twin Falls, Idaho, Ken and Wendy Patterson of McCall, Idaho, Francis Roubicek of Nampa, Idaho, and Mike and Holly Wade of Idaho City; and nephews, Boone, Tanner, Ethan, Eli and Dillion Sanders; nieces, Kati Brook, Chace Sanders and Rachael Sanders; and cousins, Pepper (Greg) Richardson, Pennie Patterson, Parker Patterson and Conner (Kali) Bryan.

He was preceded in death by Adolph Roubicek, Ruffie Coleman Sanders, Richard L. Evans, grandmother Elizabeth Irene Sanders Evans and numerous cousins and his beloved friends.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 19, at the Hailey LDS Church.
