Robert was a native of Moultrie, GA, born on January 24, 1950 to the late J.C. and Virginia Dixon. He was raised in Albany, GA, graduated from Albany High School in 1968 and served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Robert was a member of Isabella Baptist Church, the American Legion Post # 30 and was employed with the Marine Corps Logistic Base in Albany for over thirty five years. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maggie Ross.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Dixon of Worth County, GA, a daughter, McKenzie (Ken) McDonald of Warner Robins, GA, two step-daughters, Camie (Donnie) Bence of Albany, GA and Rhonda (George) Reilly of Ashburn, VA, two sisters, Cindy (Jerry) LaMar of Isabella, GA and Ann (Jim) Lindsey of Lumber City, GA, five grandchildren, Cody Bence of Albany, GA, Marlea Cooper and Kenslea McDonald both of Warner Robins, GA, Sean (Lexi) Reilly and Megan (Patrick) Cliett all of Ashburn, VA and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour (2:00-3:00) before the funeral at Mathews Funeral Home.
