Funeral services for Mrs. Myrna Hellen Jones, 97, of the Elderville Community, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Centre Presbyterian Church in Elderville with Rev. Romnie Scott and Rev. John Woodard officiating. Interment will follow in Elderville Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday, at the church.

Mrs. Jones passed away January 17, 2019, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.

She was born Aug. 30, 1921 in Smith County, Mississippi to Flue E. and Laura Elizabeth (Monroe) Sorey, and was a resident of the Elderville community since 1948.

She helped her husband Charlie with their store, C.W. Hellen Grocery.

Myrna was a sports fan, and particularly enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Golden State Warriors basketball.

She also enjoyed gardening, keeping a manicured lawn, and quilting and crocheting.

She was a member of Centre Presbyterian Church in Elderville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charlie Woods Hellen, and Anson Jones; son, William Delmar Hellen; great-grandchild, Rebecca Parker; great-great-grandson, Justin Lyn Brown; and 8 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: son, Wayne Hellen and wife Dianne of Tyler, and daughters, Charlene Hellen Moore and husband Tommy of Henderson, and Laura Ann Hellen Parker and husband Clyde of Lake Cherokee; sister, Martha Sorey Nelson of Forrest, MS; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all her loving caregivers, Lou Ella Owens, Doris Hunter, Rose Reese, Pat Hicks, Que Smith, and Latoya Rucker.

Pallbearers are Jason Hellen, Travis Parker, Tye Gossage, Zachary Hellen, Cole Flanagan, and Lane Flanagan. Honorary pallbearer is Justin Pope.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to to the Elderville Cemetery Association, PO Box 7862, Longview, Tx, 75607-7862.
