Elizabeth W. Egan, 93, of Bloomfield, died surrounded by her loving family on December 29, 2018 at Stonebrook Village in Windsor Locks. She was born in Hartford on November 24, 1925 to the late Thomas J. Walsh and Anna Louise (Doran) Walsh. A graduate of The Mount in West Hartford and the College of St. Elizabeth in New Jersey. She married the love of her life, the late Michael J. Egan, Jr. on August 24, 1950 and together they made their home in Bloomfield for many years. Bette worked for the Windsor School System as their Food Service Director and continued her career as Food Service Director for the Town of Bloomfield. She retired in the early 1990’s and enjoyed time with her family and friends.
Bette is survived by her loving daughters Mary Ellen Joseph and her husband Peter and Susanne Soucy and her husband Michael both of East Granby and her grandsons Michael and Ryan Joseph both of Granby. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, whom she adored, Carson, Michaela and Emma Joseph and her brother Thomas Walsh and his wife Sue. Besides her parents, Bette was predeceased by a brother Robert Walsh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 4th from the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, at 9:00 AM with a procession to Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield for a 10:00 AM service. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Memorial donations in Bette’s name can be made to Masonicare Charity Foundation for Hospice at 22 Masonic Avenue, Wallingford, CT 06492.
