Roger P. Jenkins, 59, of Piqua, passed away at 10:52 am Thursday, January 17, 2019 at his residence, of natural causes. He was born January 19, 1959 in Piqua to the late Estel P. and Jean Rae (Emert) Jenkins. He married Deonn Dull on April 5, 1980 in Troy, and she survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Tiffany (Adam) Newman of Piqua; a son, Trentin Jenkins of Dayton; five grandchildren, Logan, Gabe, Jacob, Isaac, and Ellie all at home; one sister, Carol (Tom) Banks of Piqua; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Jenkins in 2016.

Mr. Jenkins was a valued employee for over ten years for Freshway Foods. He spent over 25 years before Freshway with Hartzell Hardwoods. He was a troop leader for Boy Scouts Troop 76 and loved to assist with church activities. Mr. Jenkins enjoyed fishing, hunting, tent camping, and traveling with his family; most recently to New Orleans and Disney World-Orlando.

A service to honor his life will begin at 1:30 pm Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Leech officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be held from 1-3 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Donors Choice of Charity.
