Stanley Gunson Green, age 84 a resident of Annapolis, MD and previously a resident of Washington DC died December 17, 2018. Born on July 2, 1934, to Carl and Dorothy Green in Chicago Illinois, he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and Engineering School at the University of Maryland. After college, he was commissioned in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps and assigned duty in Hawaii. When released from active duty he returned to the Washington area and worked in the FAA, CIA, Postal Service, and the U.S. Army Corps Engineers retiring from a lifelong career of public service in 1998. He was married to Claudia Taft Green August 16, 1969, until her death on May 26, 1992. He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church for 42 years. He maintained his professional engineering license into his 80's working on everything from hydroelectric dams to foundation walls for his neighbors in Loch Haven. He enjoyed sailing, spending time with friends and family, wine and telling stories. He traveled East as far as Iran and West as far as Thailand. He is survived by his son Steven Green, daughter in law Christy Green, and grandson Cayden Green. A memorial service will be held February 3, 2019, at 2:00 pm in Friendship Hall at Ginger Cove, 4000 River Crescent Drive, Annapolis, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1300 West Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.
