She married Carlton Miles "Carl" Rood (son of Miles R Rood & Avaline E Chesebro) on July 1, 1953 in Marshall, Oneida County, NY. Grace was 18 and Carlton was 22.

Grace and Carlton had seven children in eleven years. They were the parents of Terry R, Donna A, Michael, Darlene M, Kenneth, Deborah, and Josephine.

Grace died on May 5, 2013, in Utica, Oneida County, NY at the age of 77.
