Gladys Madolin Priest Miller, 88, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died June 19, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Center in Idaho Falls.
She was born October 9, 1909, at Taylor, Idaho, to William Priest and Mabel J. Young. She grew up in Taylor and attended school there. She attended high school in Shelley, Idaho, and graduated from Shelley High School.
On February 12, 1931, she married Edwin Joseph Miller in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. After their marriage, they moved to Mud Lake, Idaho, where they farmed. They also farmed in Hamer, Goshen, and Ammon, Idaho.
During World War II, they moved to Layton, Utah, where they lived for four years. In 1945 they moved to Idaho Falls and she has since lived there. She worked as a sales clerk for S H Kress Department Store for many years.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served as Den Mother in the Cub Scouts for more than 15 years. Her hobbies included making quilts, crocheting, embroidering, and in her younger years she loved to travel. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include six sons, Gilbert Miller of Ashland, Oregon, Gail Miller of Los Gatos, Calif., Wendell Miller of Grayeagle, California, Sheron Miller of Pocatello, Idaho, Earl Miller of Ammon, and Glen Miller of Idaho Falls; a sister, Myrtle Tolman of Pocatello; two brothers, Oscar Priest of Layton, Utah, and Tom Priest of Caldwell, Idaho; 25 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak, in Shelley. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
