Gospel Songwriter, Singer, Minister. He made a considerable contribution to Southern Gospel Music in the 20th century, writing over 550 songs, including "Mansion Over the Hilltop", I Know Who Holds Tomorrow", "Suppertime", "Follow Me", "Room at the Cross", and "Happiness Is the Lord". Stanphill was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1981.
