Laura was born in Dryden on February 13, 1922, the daughter of Claude and Ida Culver and lived in the Washington, D.C. area prior to her retirement from the Department of Defense at the Pentagon. Before moving back to her home, she lived in Cape Cod and in Sarasota, Florida for several years.
Laura was an avid writer and a dedicated member of the Sirius Lodge of Masons. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh O. (Jim) Crow; her sisters, Helen Ferrell Forshee and Doris Fiesinger.
Laura is survived by her nephew, Stan Ferrell of Ithaca, NY; and nieces, Margo Yager of Homer, NY and Lynne Bryson of Menifee, CA.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on April 5, 2009 at the Masonic Lodge in Groton, NY. In lieu of flowers, Laura has requested memorial gifts be made to the Nature Conservancy or to the Foundation of Light.
