Steven R. Burris, 44 of Elmer, Missouri, died Monday, Jan. 10, 1994 at the University Hospital & Clinics in Columbia, Missouri.
Born on July 3, 1949 in Denver, Colorado, he was the son of Melvin and Frona (Waechter) Burris.
On Dec. 26, 1984 in Elmer, Missouri, he married Nellie VanDyke, who survives.
Also surviving are his mother; two step-daughters, Laura Stevens and Godiva Stevens, both of the home; three brothers, Bob Aldinger and Dean Burris, both of Elmer, and Bill Burris of Elizabeth, Colorado; three sisters, Gwen Turnbull of Grand Junction, Colorado, Yvonne Caster of Aurora, Colorado, and Joyce Burris of Winslow, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father on Feb. 22, 1983.
Mr. Burris had spent most of his life in Denver, Colorado, before moving to Elmer in 1981. He had been employed as a mechanic at Harpster Equipment Co. in Atlanta, Missouri. He was of the Baptist
faith.
Graveside services were held Thursday afternoon, Jan. 13, 1994 at the Bunce Cemetery, west of Elmer. The Elliot Funeral Home of Atlanta were in charge of the arrangements.
