A resident of New Iberia, LA, he passed at 6:37 A.M. Monday, January 14, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Dwayne Raleigh Jones was borneo the union of the late Raleigh and Gloria Ann Nora Jones on September 21, 1965.
He gave his life to Christ and was baptized in Jesus name at an early age.
Dwayne graduated from New Iberia Senior High in 1984. After attending Coastal Driving School, he began his twenty-three year career as a Cross Country truck Driver which was his passion.
He and his wife, Sharon V. Jones enjoyed three loving and fruitful years of marriage.
He was an active member of Greater Rhema Full Gospel Baptist Church.
Dwayne never met a stranger. He enjoyed having a good meal. He also knew the importance of family and made them a priority in his life. He cherished his time with his wife, family and friends.
He leaves to mourn, his wife, Sharon; two step-sons, Emile Jolivet, Jr. and Samuel M. Jones; future daughter-in-law, Taeyah Allen; two nephews, that he raised as his sons, Eddie L. Jones and Johnny Maneaux, Jr.; two sisters, Devera Jones and Malanika Flugence (Bryant) all of New Iberia, LA.
He also leaves to mourn , two nieces, DeEra Batiste and Breyahni Flugence and Brenton Flugence; four grandchildren, Jamile Brooks, Zamar, Zion and Zachariah "Sketch" Jolivet; five uncles, Namon Jones, MacAllen Nora, Calvin Nora, Jr. (Gwen), George Nora (Cynthia), Glenn Nora, Sr. (Ellen); four aunts, Edwina Livingston, Clara N. Alexander (Wilbert), Goldie N. Crochet (Mike), Mishie N. Green (Joe); a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Rev. H. M. and Julia Lewis Jones; and his maternal grandparents, Calvin Sr. and Mary Washington Nora.
