Debbie was born March 23, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa to Donald and Virginia McIntosh. She attended Cassidy Elementary, Irving Jr. High and Tech High Schools in Des Moines. She met and married her best friend of 40 years on December 7, 1968, living in Des Moines most of their lives.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 396. She was the most loving, caring, nurturing friend anyone could have. She loved spending time gardening, playing cards with friends and family, her planned and created 4th of July Celebrations, and vacations in Okoboji.
She is survived by her husband, Lee; a son-in-law, John Sims and his children Zach, J.D. and Grant of Dallas Center; daughter, Jenny Watters and her children, Mikayla, Michael, and Lucy of Dallas Center; daughter, Maggy Shaw and Tim Anthofer of Ankeny and their children Caleb, Jonathon, and Jacob; son, Ben Shaw and Beth Harvey and their children, Jazmine and Lily of Des Moines; a sister, Marchele (Richard) McIntosh-Howard of St. Charles and a multitude of loving friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her daughter, Missy Sims and a granddaughter Amanda Sims.
