Mrs. Hines was born in Elyria on October 6, 1925 and lived in Elyria all of her life. A graduate of Elyria High School with the class of 1943, she went on to nursing training at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland and became a registered nurse. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the church's Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Catholic Nurses Association. She enjoyed reading, playing the organ, cross stitch and working in her yard.
Surviving her are three sons, Michael (Rhoda) Hines and Thomas (Janet) Hines, both of Elyria, and John F. Hines II of West Palm Beach, Florida; four daughters, Carolyn (Jeff) Friedman of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, and Elayne (Marty) Johnson-Sharpnack, Kathy Ross, and Paula Bishop all of Elyria. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Her husband, John F. Hines, preceded her in death in 2005.

The Reverend Father Charles Diedrick, Pastor, officiate. Burial in St. Mary's cemetery, Elyria.
