Martha Charlotte Halstaed.
Burt was the husband of Eliza Jane Drinnin, they married August 3, 1893 Columbus, Nebraska.
Together they had 7 children; Cecil Lorraine (she died age 2 of whooping cough), Adele Prudence, Glendive DeWitt, Elizabeth Ardula, Burton Dwight, Forrest Vern, and Melvin Robert.
Writings about Burt~ A handsome man in his youth. Lacked
character and responsibility. Joseph Henry Drinnen threw
him off his land on one occasion for his hot temper and
profane language.~(from Eliza Jane)~ A difficult person to live with. Her marriage was a great disappointment to her, after 7 children she divorced Burt. She refers to his as a very Jealous man. His Mother says, he was her Best boy,but yes had a jealous disposition.
As an epilogue to Burt Stevenson's life, cousin Florence Stevenson Boughton exchange letters with him many years
ago. It seems aunt Linda (Glenn's wife and Florence's mother) did indeed bring him back to Minnesota to live with them, mainly to spite Grandma Stevenson. It didn't last long and he was taken back to Arkansas, which I (LaDonna) understand was a sad affair. He died a very lonely man.(a Passage in the family Book of Adel) Adel Book writen by LaDonna Geiser-English (Adel daughter)
