Mollie Jeanne Edwards age 78 of Olmsted, Illinois passed away at 6:34 am Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky.

She was born February 5, 1940 in East Prairie, Missouri to the late Roy Richard and Mollie Callie (Arington) Blumenberg.

Jeanne had a postal career with the United States Postal Service for 28 years, where she had served as Postmaster at the Villa Ridge and Pulaski Post Offices and retired from the Mound City Post Office in 2004.

She was a member of the Cairo Garden Club; member of the Olmsted Historical Society; served on the Olmsted Library Board for several years; and attended the First Church of God in East Prairie, Missouri.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Roy Edwards; mother-in-law, Lois Edwards; and a sister-in-law, Jean Pickett.

Survivors include her husband, Dallas L. Edwards of Olmsted; children, Mike (Stacy) Edwards of Eagan, Minnesota, Gary Edwards of Olmsted, Allison (Jerry) Underwood of Hilliard, Florida, Eric Skees of Amarillo, Texas, Wade (Susan) Skees of Paducah, Kentucky, and Paige Williams (Fiancée, Trey Sizemore) of Canton, Georgia; three brothers, Rev. Rick (Carol) Blumenberg, Barry (Debbie) Blumenberg, and Rev. Tony (Sherry) Blumenberg; two sisters, Patty Krauss and Carolyn (Jim) Britt; two brother-in-laws, Ralph Pickett and Delbert (Pat) Edwards; grandchildren, Mollie Bell, Peyton Skees, Morgan Artley, Cameron Skees, Claire Edwards, Sydney Skees, Dallas Edwards, Amelia Underwood, Griffin Underwood; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday at the funeral home with her brothers Rev. Rick Blumenberg and Rev. Tony Blumenberg officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 am Tuesday at the Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City with interment to follow.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Illinois Chapter 320 East Walnut Street Suite A Carbondale, Illinois 62901 or to the Lourdes Mercy Health Hospice 1530 Lone Oak Road Paducah, Kentucky 42003 in memory of Jeanne Edwards.
