LARRY'S OBITUARY
U.S. Veteran
Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Larry LeRoy Curtis took the next step in his eternal journey Sunday, May 13, 2018.

He was born in Monroe, Utah on January 5, 1939, to Darrell A. and Sylva Susannah (Tuft) Curtis and grew up in Utah. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy where in addition to serving his country he trained to become a machinist, eventually achieving journeyman status. He retired from C.G. Bretting Manufacturing Company in 2003.

He loved doing things with his family, especially camping and being in the outdoors. He was the kind of man who could make or fix just about anything. His family members were often the recipients of his generosity and kindness.

He could talk to anyone and become friends in minutes. He was masterful at using humor to break the ice and create friendships. The twinkle in his eyes reflected the humor in his heart and has fortunately passed down to all his children and grandchildren. He loved traveling, taking his camp trailer anywhere and everywhere. He was continually active; he always had a project of some sort going until the effects of his Multiple System Atrophy started to cost him his dexterity. He had a strong faith in the God to whom he returned Sunday morning.

He married Sherilin Barnson in 1966; they later divorced. He married Jean Szumal February 1st, 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Altogether he had nine children, 19 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, and children, Chad (Linda), Michelle (Chris), Shane (Annette), Jeanette (Andy), Scott, Kirsten (Dan), Stephanie, Brad (Bethany), and Megan. He will also be missed by his two brothers, Farrell (Carma) and Ron (Sondra) and one sister, Iretta (Tom, deceased).

Preceded in death by one week by his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Max.

A memorial to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Frost Home for Funerals, 610 Ellis Avenue South, Ashland, Wisc. Inurnment will be done in a private family ceremony at the Northern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
