Mt. Sterling, Ill., April 6. -- The funeral of J. William Putnam, who was born and spent his entire life in Brown county, was held at the family home, Wednesday morning, with services in charge of Reverend J. W. Robbins, and interment in the Hersman cemetery.In his young days, Mr. Putnam was a farmer; but a few years ago, retired on account of poor health, and has been making his home at Hersman since. Mr. Putnam was born April 21 1855, and besides his wife, leaves a son, Amos Putnam, of Clayton; and a daughter, Miss Mayme, who made her home with her parents.- The Quincy Daily Herald, Friday, April 7, 1922; page 15.....
