Genevieve Klockenteger died July 31, 1998, in Paw Paw, Michigan. She was 89.

Mrs. Klockenteger was born May 22, 1909, in Provo, Utah, and moved to Paw Paw to live with her sister following the death of her husband, William S., in 1992.

Survivors include three sons, Larry of Littleton, Colo., Gary of Mercer Island, Wash., and John of Tumwater, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Ardis Hux of Vancouver; one sister, Donna Hickok of Paw Paw; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Klockenteger earned her teacher's certificate at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, and later attended Utah State University. She also attended the University of Idaho.

Mrs. Klockenteger taught in several schools before teaching extension courses to children in Alaskan villages.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

In Vancouver, she was a volunteer at the hospital and enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing and bird watching.

Following her husband's retirement in 1966, they moved to Arcata, Calif., and then Vancouver, where they lived until 1990.

There was a memorial service in Paw Paw. She is buried in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vancouver. Columbian, Friday, September 11, 1998
