Amber Roseshell Martin born July 29, 1993 passed away from chronic lung rejection on December 30, 2018. She was surrounded by family and loved ones who had been a huge part of her 25 years of life. She was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis just six months after birth and bravely fought this life long battle. She was born in Channelview, Texas and later lived in Tarkington Prairie, Cleveland, Texas. She would spend a huge part of her life growing up in Texas Children's Hospital and later St. Luke's Hospital as she fought daily to just breathe. In August 2016, she was fortunate to receive a double lung transplant. Just a few shorts months afterwards she was living life like never before. We will forever be thankful to her donor for giving us this additional time to spend with her. Amber had a strong love for animals and would do anything to save one. She was excited when accepted into Vet Tech School; even more excited was when she was able to work for a mouse facility where she cared for hundreds of mice daily. She was consumed with online gaming after learning about World of Warcraft from her uncle over 12 years ago. She would play for hours and formed some wonderful relationships that have lasted until the end. These friends were always there for her to confide in, even eventually falling in love with one of those friends. Amber was well known in and out of the hospital for her hair color. Nurses and doctors would take bets on which color her hair would be at her next appointment. She was confident in every color she wore. Young and old would stop her to tell her how they loved her hair. Amber loved to shop online, she had packages every day it seemed. But, she wasn't always just buying for herself. She absolutely loved buying for others. She had a knack for finding a perfect gift online or creating her own masterpiece with someone specifically in mind. She spent a lot of her time these last few months teaching her sister how to cook like her. Amber was an awesome cook, she loved good food. We will forever miss all her wonderful creations. Amber is preceded in death by her father, Daniel Martin and paternal grandfather, Dale Martin. She is survived by her mother, Robin Goodson Martin; sister, April Martin; the love of her life, James Hutto and sons, Audie and Rowen; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Goodson and paternal grandmother, Rebecca Leake; her beloved pets, Layne (Pitbull), Alex (German Shepherd/Husky Mix) and Chase (Cat). Also, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins and other family members. Amber was blessed to have so many friends in her short life. Her friends meant so much to her. She had a huge church family who loved and supported her and she was so thankful for their prayers and hugs. The family asks that you always support cystic fibrosis (CF) so that one day CF will stand for Cure Found. Also, be an organ donor! It saves lives. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a service to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Rural Shade Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Interment to follow at Ryan Cemetery, TX-321, Cleveland, Texas 77327. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the services in the Fellowship Hall of the Rural Shade Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081.
