Clarence W. Boyd, Jr. age 76 of Pounding Mill, Virginia passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

He was born in Buchanan County, Virginia and was the son of the late Clarence W. Boyd, Sr. and Virginia “Jean” Ferrell Boyd. He was a 1960 graduate of Whitewood High School and was a retired engineer for the Virginia Department of Transportation. C.W. was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He had attended the Richlands First Assembly of God and was the past master of the Cedar Bluff #260 AF & AM Masonic Lodge. He was a good standing member of the Shriners and Jericho Temple and was a lifelong resident of the area.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur Boyd and Larry Ray Boyd.

Funeral service for Clarence W. Boyd, Jr. will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Buddy Herald and Rev. Dennis White officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Chase Cole, Glen Allen Keen, Glen “Allen” Keen, Glen Collins, Tanner Keen, and Anthony Keen. The family will begin receiving friends at 6:00 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home with a Masonic service being conducted at 7pm.
