Helen Armstrong

Helen Marie Armstrong, 96, of Watertown, died on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Marquardt Memorial Manor.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Terry Larson officiating.

Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the charity of one's choice.

The former Helen Zastrow was born July 22, 1912, in Bartlett, Kan., daughter of William and Elizabeth (Mack) Zastrow. She married Thomas Armstrong on Nov. 22, 1935, in Evanston, Ill. She had been employed at Bentz Upholstery in Watertown for many years. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, its altar guild, quilting group and taught Sunday school. She was a member of the 500 Card Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Jodine (Lawrence) Zoellick of Hartland and Linda Armstrong of Madison; two grandchildren, Doug (Julie) Schwantes and Lori (Paul) Pelto; three great-grandchildren, Adam and Emily Schwantes and Ashley Fetkenhauer; two brothers, Paul Zastrow of Cambridge and Harold (Gerry) Zastrow of Fort Atkinson; a sister, Irma Hartman of Muncie, Ind.; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five brothers and sisters.
