Also surviving are son, Chad Randolph, daughter, Amanda (Kevin) Halim; brothers Gene (Mick) Randolph, Bob (Melinda) Randolph, sister, Sandy (Bill) Leutzinger, adopted sister, Lynn Citizen; nephews, Brock, Noah, Daniel, Luke, Jesse, Jacob, Ben, Michael; nieces, Kristen and Candace.
John is preceded in death by his parents.
John graduated from Rossville-Alvin High School and then received a degree from Judson University. He was a retired insurance agent from Prudential and was actively involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. John was a faithful member of Ridgeview Baptist Church where he led Bible studies, taught Sunday School, worked with youth, coached basketball, and served as a deacon for many years.
John was an avid Cubs fan. He loved playing basketball, church softball, miniature golf, Words with Friends, and Frisbee Golf on Nintendo Wii. Over the last few years he enjoyed substitute teaching Special Ed. classes at Danville High School and developed a special bond with his mother-in-law. He loved his dogs Wrigley and Rosie as well as his grand-dogs Smalls, Thor, and Nobi.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday January 17, 2019 at Ridgeview Baptist Church 3838 N. Vermilion St. Danville. Please feel free to come and share laughs, food and memories with John’s friends and family.
